How does God move in our present day world to accomplish
His goals? One way is to plant a seed within the heart of an individual
who has the gift of seeing it come to fruition. At the beginning it was
just a thought, then a vision of what it could be. The vision was shared
with other believers and Higher became a reality. A core group was formed
to organize the event. The members are people who have been involved with
different Twin Ports events and parachurch organizations over many years,
such as Youth for Christ/ Encounter, The Right From Wrong Campaign with
Josh McDowell, Christian Women's Club, Spice of Life, and other inter-church
events that have centered on Christ.
The desire is that Higher would be inter-denominational without any church
or denomination named as sponsor. Higher envisions what began as a small
circle of believers will grow and come together to hold the name of Jesus
up in praise and honor, with the goal that God the Father may be glorified.
They firmly believe in the local church bodies and in no way would detract
from their individual beliefs or doctrine. Higher is bringing the Body
of Christ together as believers claiming unity that only faith in Jesus
can bring. |
